For Android users, we recommend setting Google Fit as your steps provider.
You will notice there are a choice of two Google Fit icons in the Treekly app to chose from.
The Google Fit icon with the heart symbol in the corner refers to Health Connect. This is Google's "bridge" allowing 3rd parties (such as Treekly) to request your steps data, subject to your permissions.
The other Google Fit icon in Treekly (without a symbol) is configured to use Terra as the "bridge". For guidance on how to connect via Terra click here
Open the Google Fit app.
Tap Profile in the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the Settings button on the top right corner.
Scroll down to Sync Fit with Health Connect and activate the toggle button.
The activation page will be opened - press Set up.
Within the Google Fit permissions page, allow it to write Steps data.
On the Treekly app:
On the Home screen, tap the link 🔗 icon next to the steps counter.
This will open the Health Connect page. Tap Google Fit (with the blue heart Health Connect symbol).
Select the checkbox: "I'm ready for Treekly to connect"
You will now be connected!
Please note for Health Connect to work as the bridge, it depends on which Android operating system your phone is running on.
Android 9 (API 28) or higher.
You must install the Health Connect app before synchronising your steps with Treekly.
Android 14 (API 34) or higher.
You do not need to install the Health Connect as it comes embedded with Android 14. Please ensure that you uninstall Health Connect via the Google Play Store so that both instances do not clash. The Health Connect app has been uninstalled if you see the "Install" or "Update" button.
Android 8.1 (API 27) or lower.
Not supported, and therefore you will need to connect via the other Google Fit icon listed in Treekly, which instead uses Terra as the bridge. For guidance on how to connect via Terra click here
