Follow these 5 Key Steps, in order:
Open Samsung Health
Tap the More (⋮) button (top-right) and press Settings
Scroll to Connected Apps and Services section and press Health Connect
Open App permissions
Select Samsung Health
Scroll to Allowed to write section and toggle on:
Steps
Distance
Your phone may be blocking background syncing of steps.
Go to your phone’s main Settings
Select Apps → Samsung Health
Tap Battery and select Unrestricted
Some devices require an additional privacy setting to allow steps to sync.
Open Samsung Health
Tap the More (⋮) button, in top-right corner
Press Settings
Scroll to Privacy section
Enable:
“Consent to the processing of health data and wellness data”
Samsung Health must be the top data source, otherwise steps may not sync.
Open Samsung Health > More (⋮) > Settings
Scroll to Connected Apps and Services section and press Health Connect
Scroll to Manage data section
Select Data sources & priority
Move Samsung Health to the top of the list
(On some phones: tap Edit or use the ⋮ menu to reorder)
For example, your phone will be a Steps Source. To remove it:
Open Samsung Health > More (⋮) > Settings
Scroll to Connected Apps and Services section and press Health Connect
Scroll to Preferences section and press Devices
Tap your specific phone (e.g., "Samsung Galaxy S24")
Toggle off Steps
Open the Treekly app
On the Home screen, tap the
link icon next to your steps
Select Samsung Health (blue heart icon)
When prompted, allow Treekly to read:
Steps
Distance
Tick “I’m ready for Treekly to connect”
Tap Connect
TroubleshootingMake sure:
Samsung Health can write Steps & Distance
Treekly can read Steps & Distance
If either is missing, syncing will fail.
Health Connect only syncs existing recorded data.
Open Samsung Health
Walk a few steps
Manually trigger a sync (swipe down)
This helps “kick-start” syncing if it’s stuck.
(A) Reset permissions
Go to Samsung Health → Settings → Health Connect
Tap App permissions
Select Samsung Health
Toggle Allow all → OFF
Ensure Steps is OFF
(B) Restart your phone
(C) Re-enable permissions
Go back to:
Samsung Health → Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Samsung Health
Toggle Allow all → ON
(D) Trigger a sync
Open Samsung Health
Walk a few steps
Swipe down firmly from the middle of the screen (not the top)
You should see “Syncing”
(E) Refresh Treekly
Open Treekly
Tap the calendar icon
Tap the refresh button (next to “This week”)
