Setting up as a charity is something we considered, however, there are some limitations with that model in having the most positive climate impact possible.
To do this, Treekly was set up as a "profit for purpose" company, enabling us to scale quickly. That means accessing grants and investments so we can hire the best talent to build the Treekly app/platform and make it available to as many people as possible.
It is on our roadmap to build the Treekly Foundation, our non-profit arm for direct project donations.
